Can I use invoicing software without paying a percentage of every invoice?
Yes: distinguish the software provider’s invoice percentage from payment processing. A product can charge a subscription and no additional platform percentage while card or bank-processing fees still apply.
Separate the three costs
A subscription pays for access to the software. A platform percentage is an additional cut charged by that software provider. Processing fees pay for the payment transaction and can depend on payment method, country, currency and your provider agreement.
- Read the subscription price and billing interval.
- Ask whether the software adds its own percentage or transaction fee.
- Check the processor’s current rate and any fixed charge.
- Check currency conversion, disputes, refunds and other applicable costs.
Use the right denominator
For a fictional $1,000 payment, a 1% software fee would be $10. Removing that fee saves only that $10; it does not remove a processor’s separate charge. This is arithmetic, not a quote for any provider. Use your actual collection volume when comparing costs.
Moolamochi’s published policy
Solo, Studio and Agency have no Moolamochi invoice percentage fee on new collections. Solo costs $49 monthly or $490 billed yearly and uses managed recipient onboarding. Studio and Agency connect an existing Stripe account. Actual processing fees apply, and earlier payments retain their historical fee records.
Access and trial expectations
Moolamochi remains waitlist-only for new signups. The planned seven-day trial requires a card, and the selected subscription renews unless canceled before the trial ends. Joining the waitlist does not charge a card or start a trial.
