When does an outreach sequence stop?

Any reply, including out-of-office, stops the contact’s active enrollment for human review. Opt-outs and complaints suppress marketing throughout the workspace.

Follow the steps.

  1. Inspect the stopped recipient outcome

The recording scrolls to Recipient outcomes on the paused sequence. Its stopped enrollment is not reactivated. Any reply, including out-of-office, stops the relevant outreach. Review the linked contact and opportunity before considering a next action.

  2. Inspect explicit private-mailbox access

The recording expands Explicit mailbox sharing and shows the user-specific access controls without changing a grant. Private mail is not available merely because someone is an admin. Read the actual reply only with owner or explicit sharing access. Relevant booking, accepted estimate, won/lost deal and first linked payment also stop outreach; refunds never resume it.

  3. Prepare an all-mail address hold

The recording opens a suppression draft, enters an address and checks Hold address for all mail, without saving. Workspace suppression follows imports, merges and mailboxes. Hard bounce holds all classes until corrected and verified; marketing opt-out does not override address safety.

  4. Keep an uncertain send unresolved

The recording changes the observed-outcome selector and restores Unresolved without submitting. Inspect the provider’s sent folder and message ID before recording reconciliation evidence. OAuth expiry or disconnection needs an official reconnect. Never blindly resend after a provider timeout.

What changes when you finish

Stopped and suppressed recipients do not receive the next sales step. Human review and current eligibility, not a refund or blind retry, govern future outreach.

Stop for the relevant relationship

A booking, accepted estimate, won or lost deal, or first linked payment stops the related opportunity, contact or project enrollment. An unrelated project event does not indiscriminately stop every opportunity for a company. A cancellation or refund never resumes sales automatically.

Keep address safety across systems

Suppression follows imports, merges, archived records and connected mailboxes. A hard bounce holds all email classes until correction and verification. Necessary nonpromotional receipts may still be eligible after a marketing opt-out, but never override a hard-bounce hold.

Handle uncertainty before retrying

A provider timeout after submission can mean the message was accepted even though the application did not receive confirmation. Delivery uncertain requires reconciliation instead of a blind resend. Provider acceptance and delivery are separate states, and opens or clicks are not reliable evidence that a human engaged.
